Lauri Mähönen

Partner, Data and Analytics

A front-line builder of growth models who turns data into precisely targeted action.

Lauri Mähönen has worked in data and software business since 1998. Over his career he has worked at Bisnode, among others, and helped develop Kauppalehti 121, one of the first advanced data services in Finland.

Most recently Lauri led sales for Dun & Bradstreet in the Nordics, running a six-country unit with nearly a hundred people, six languages and several currencies. He met Olli-Pekka through client work almost ten years ago. In 2026 Lauri joined N4C.

At N4C, Lauri brings a strong data perspective to developing customer relationships, for example segmentation and spotting churn signals and buying moments. Years of experience show that the themes of customer relationship management stay relevant from one year to the next. Tools such as AI add new dimensions to them. Experience from different markets has shown that sales cultures can differ considerably even between the Nordic and Baltic countries. That is why Lauri wants to stay close to customers and to hands-on sales work.

What others say about Lauri

Having worked with Lauri for several years after the Bisnode acquisition, I warmly recommend him: he combines vision, positive energy and results-driven commercial leadership. Lauri builds strong relationships across countries and performs convincingly in a complex organisation too.

I have worked with Lauri at both company and board level, and I know him as a straight-talking, fast and precise professional. He grasps complex situations quickly, defines the actions needed and leads their agile execution reliably and with determination.

As a member of the management team, Lauri played an important role when country-specific small business sales teams were combined into a more unified regional operating model. He is a passionate and persistent leader who takes on challenges with a positive, solution-oriented approach.

AI can handle the transactions, but people handle the things that matter in a customer relationship.

  1. Four basic types of customer relationship

Is the need predictable, and is it a routine or a situation that calls for interpretation? Each combination needs its own solution.

  2. Data capability and customer profitability

Revenue tells you how much business you do. Profitability tells you whether it creates value.

  3. Buying signals and moments of growth

A new CEO, a new owner, or an industry that grows without you. The moments when the agenda changes.

  4. People, channels and AI

What to automate, and where the customer needs to find a person.
